AwesomePlays ("we", "us", "our") is a video game tracking platform that lets you manage your game library, track progress, rate games, and connect with friends. Our website is located at awesomeplays.com.

Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Your name, email address, and profile photo when you sign in with Google.
  • Your Steam profile ID if you connect your Steam account to import your library.
  • Your Xbox Gamertag if you connect your Xbox account to import your library.
  • Profile information you choose to enter: username, display name, bio.
  • Games you add to your library, along with statuses and ratings.
  • Messages you post on user profile message boards.

Information collected automatically

  • Log data including your IP address, browser type, and pages visited.
  • Analytics data collected by PostHog, which helps us understand how users interact with the site (page views, feature usage). PostHog is configured to route through our own domain to respect privacy.
  • Cookies set by Google AdSense and other advertising partners (see Advertising section below).

How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To provide core features: library management, friends, activity feeds.
  • To personalise your experience (e.g. showing your library stats on the dashboard).
  • To improve the platform using aggregated, anonymised analytics.
  • To display advertising that helps fund the service (see below).

Advertising — Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on AwesomePlays. Third-party services

  • Google OAuth — used for sign-in. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Steam / Valve — used to import your game library via Steam ID. Subject to Steam's Privacy Policy.
  • Xbox / Microsoft — used to import your game library via Xbox. Subject to Microsoft's Privacy Policy.
  • IGDB (Twitch/Amazon) — game metadata is fetched from IGDB's API. No personal data is shared with IGDB.
  • PostHog — product analytics. Data is processed under PostHog's Privacy Policy.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Settings page, which will permanently remove your profile, library, and all associated data.

Children's privacy

AwesomePlays is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
